The online application process for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) CSE examinations 2019 will start from Tuesday, 19 February, according to the official calendar available on the Commission’s website. The last date for online applications is 18 March 2019.
Candidates interested in appearing for the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) exam and IFS (Indian Forest Services) through CS(P) 2019 Exam can apply online on upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. The preliminary examination for both - Civil Services and Indian Forest Services (IFS) would be conducted together on 2 June 2019.
The Civil Services (Mains) 2019 examinations are scheduled to commence from 20 September, while the IFS (Mains) 2019 examination would commence from 1 December 2019.
A candidate must be at least of 21 years of age and must not have attained the age of 32 years as of 1 August 2019.
A candidate aspiring for the post of IFS must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects – Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.
For Indian Civil Services, a candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree from any recognised university in India.
The UPSC recruitment is a three-step process wherein candidates are required to clear the preliminary and the main examinations, post which they are shortlisted for a personal interview. The final selection is done based on Merit score of main examination and interview round combined.
