The Tamil Nadu Directorate of General Examination (TNDGE) announced the class 11 results on 8 May. 8.06 lakh students appeared for the examinations this year. The examinations were conducted from 13 February to 22 February 2019.
The passing percentage for the Tamil Nadu DGE is 95% this year. Girls outshined the boys once again with 96.5% passing percentage against 93.3% of boys who passed the exams.
96.8% students form the visually impaired category passed the examinations this year. Moreover, out of 78 students who took the exam from prison, 62 students passed.
100% students from 2634 schools in the state of Tamil Nadu passed the class 11 examinations.
Erode district topped the examinations with a passing percentage of 96.97 % while Tiruppur with 95.61% and Tirunelveli with 95.35% stood second and third respectively.
Cuddalore was the worst performer with 88.63% students passing the class 11 examination.
