The result for National Eligibility Test (NET) is likely to be released today i.e., 12 July 2019. According to their help desk, National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to declare the UGC NET result today by 6 pm. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same and the UGC NET result can also be released within a day or two.
The result will be declared on the official website. Candidates will be able to check their results at https://ntanet.nic.in/.
The result was scheduled to be released on Monday i.e., 15 July 2019.
The candidates have to clear UGC NET in order to become eligible to be employed as teaching faculty. Two results are released after the examination. Those candidates who clear the JRF get an additional research fellowship whereas those who clear the NET, become eligible for lectureship jobs.
More than 9.42 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam conducted across 615 centres in 237 cities.
The National Eligibility Test (NET) was earlier conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). About more than 10 lakh candidates appear for the examination every year.
The NTA started conducting NET since 2018. It has changed the syllabus for all subjects in paper I as well as paper II. The examination conducted is in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
A minimum of 40% aggregate marks need to be secured by the candidates in both paper I and Paper II in order to qualify. For the reserved category, PwD and the transgender candidates, the minimum cut off is 35%. However, according to the result evaluation amended policy, only 6% of candidates shall be declared qualified now.
