Cong Removes Digvijaya Singh as Its Goa, Karnataka In-Charge

The move comes after the Congress’s Goa election debacle, and right before the Karnataka polls next year.

Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has been removed as Congress general secretary in-charge for Goa and Karnataka on Saturday evening.

A Chella Kumar has been made Goa In-charge for the Congress. Amit Deshmukh becomes party secretary of the state

Besides, the Congress has appointed K C Venugopal as general secretary for Karnataka.

The developments come just after the Goa election debacle, where Congress won the majority of seats but failed to form the government.

Karnataka, where elections are scheduled to be held early next year, also saw a change of guard.
