Tata Sons Ltd has announced changes to its top leadership team, just over a week after ousting former chairman Cyrus Mistry and disbanding the Group Executive Council.

Ratan Tata, the interim chairman, elevated Tata group veterans to key positions. Harish Bhat, who is currently in charge of marketing and customer centricity, will now be responsible for managing the Tata brand. Bhat will also oversee the strategy and business development teams in the interim, Tata Sons said in a press release.

S Padmanabhan will head the group’s human resource department, in addition to his current role of leading the Tata Business Excellence Group.

Mukund Rajan, who is currently the chief ethics and sustainability officer, will also oversee the overseas offices in the US, Singapore, Dubai and China.

Sanjay Singh will oversee the public affairs function out of the Delhi office. Gopichand Katragadda will continue to be the $100 billion conglomerate’s chief technology officer.

Three Exits

Nirmalya Kumar, NS Rajan and Madhu Kannan have decided to explore options outside Tata Sons, the company added.

Rajan was the human resource chief, while Kannan and Kumar were members of former chairman Mistry’s Group Executive Council.
