The Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved just widened its market by entering the dairy and frozen vegetables segment, the venture announced on Thursday, 13 September.
Targeting sales worth Rs 1,000 crore from the dairy products segment, the brand launched its cow-milk and milk-based products, including curd and cheese.
Announcing the foray via a press conference, yoga guru Baba Ramdev also milked a cow at the event.
He expressed confidence that the business would have strong turnover this year and the next.
Patanjali also launched packaged drinking water under the brand name ‘Divya Jal’ in different pack sizes and has plans to introduce two variants – natural mineral water and herb-infused water.
The Haridwar-based firm has established a network of around 56,000 retailers.
“We are targeting 10 lakh litres of daily milk sales,” Ramdev added.
The company will directly procure milk from the farmers through its network and would promote products from India-based breeds, reported PTI.
“Our milk will be cheaper than other established brands by Rs 2,” said Ramdev.
