Closing Bell: Sensex, Nifty Rebound After Six-Day Losing Streak

Bank stocks helped Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty halt their six-day losing streak on Wednesday, 9 October. The S&P BSE Sensex surged more than 600 points while the NSE Nifty 50 reclaimed 11,300 points. This had been the longest losing streak since 25 July, according to BloombergQuint.

Sensex rose 1.82 percent on Wednesday to close at 38,177, while Nifty rose 1.68 percent to end at 11,313 points.

The broader markets represented by the NSE Nifty 500 Index jumped 1.52 percent, reported BloombergQuint.
