The Uttar Pradesh government has issued licences to 42 companies to make 40,000 litres of sanitisers every day in order to ensure adequate supply, officials said on Monday, reported PTI.

The ministry further stated, “3.34 lakh PPE coveralls are available with hospitals in the country. Another 3 lakh donated coveralls being received from abroad by 4 April. Eleven domestic producers of PPE coveralls have qualified so far and orders for 21 lakh have been placed on them.”
“They are supplying 6-7,000 pieces per day and are expected to go up to 15,000 per day by mid-April. One more domestic manufacturer has qualified today and is being given orders for 5 lakh PPE coveralls,” said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, reported ANI.

The Goa government on Monday commissioned a virology lab at a state-run facility to test samples for coronavirus infection.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said they received a certification from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to start the virology laboratory at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Tamil Nadu has 67 coronavirus positive cases in the State, up from 50, Chief Minister K Palaniswami said on Monday.

In Etawah, migrant workers who have returned to the various villages of the district from Delhi and other places, are being quarantined at the local primary schools and junior schools which have been turned into quarantine centres.
“People were returning in large numbers so it was difficult to determine who all have been tested. So we sought a list of all such people from all village heads. Then they were put under quarantine. They'll be sent home if they don't show any symptom,” said District Magistrate JB Singh.

The officials and staff of the Supreme Court registry have decided to donate up to three days' salary to the PM-CARES fund in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, reported PTI.
According to a circular issued by Registrar (cash and accounts) Rajesh Kumar Goel, all gazetted officers will donate three days' salary, non-gazetted employees will donate two days' salary and group "C" employees will donate one day's salary to the Prime Minister Citizens' Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) fund.

In Kerala, with suicide cases being reported from various parts of the state after liquor sales were stopped following coronavirus lockdown, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has directed the Excise Department to provide liquor to those with a prescription from doctors.
Kerala government also has asked Excise Department to provide free treatment to and admit people with withdrawal symptoms to de-addiction centers. CM had said that the government is also considering option of online sale of liquor as the sudden unavailability of alcohol may lead to social problems, reported ANI.
“Another coronavirus patient has died in West Bengal; COVID-19 deaths in state go up to two,” said officials, reported PTI.
“Twelve new coronavirus positive cases in Maharashtra — 5-Pune, 3-Mumbai, 2-Nagpur, 1-Kolhapur, 1-Nashik. The total number of coronavirus cases in the state rises to 215,” said Maharashtra Health Department, ANI reported.

In Uttarakhand, Nepalese migrant workers are stranded at Indo-Nepal border town of Dharchula, following to lockdown due to coronavirus threat.
“Eight new coronavirus positive cases — 7 in Indore and 1 in Ujjain have been reported. Total number of positive cases in Indore is 32,” said Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, ANI reported.
In Punjab, Ramnagar Sainian village of Patiala district sealed by the local administration as a precautionary measure after a 21-year-old resident of the village, who returned from Nepal, tested positive for COVID-19 and his 14-member family tested negative. Residents have been asked to stay at home.
The village has been sanitised with the spraying of disinfectants and police and medical team has been deployed there, reported ANI.
President Donald Trump said on Sunday the peak death rate in the US from the novel coronavirus is likely to hit in two weeks as he extended the coronavirus guidelines, including social distancing, until 30 April.
Assuring his countrymen that he expects the United States to be on its way to recovery by 1 June, Trump told reporters at a televised White House news conference that he had to extend the social distancing measures till 30 April, based on the advice from his two top public health advisors and members of the White House Task Force on Coronavirus: Dr Deborah Bix and Dr Anthony Fauci.

Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said there are 70 coronavirus cases in the state while 11 have been cured and tested negative and they shall be discharged on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference, he said, “All the necessary diagnosis is done and the patients are being discharged after the formalities. Fifty-eight people are under treatment.”
