A 22-year-old girl from Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir was found dead in her college in Bangladesh, reports Rising Kashmir. Quratul Ain was in the final year of her MBBS degree in Tahir-Ul-Nisa Medical College.
Speaking of the last time Quratul Ain spoke to them, a family member said, "she spoke to us on phone last night and today we were informed she didn't wake up and was found dead inside her hostel room."
The family has urged the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) with help in getting her body home. Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti also tweeted asking the MEA to expedite the process.
The High Commission of India has responded to Mufti's tweet and said that their officers are in touch with the family and is coordinating with Bangladesh authorities for early repatriation
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday, 14 April, took to Twitter and said that the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh had contacted the family of the deceased.
She also confirmed that the Ministry was in the process of expediting the return of Quratul Ain’s mortal remains.
