Have you ever wondered how celebrities on Instagram make money?
Or who is ruling the Instagram Influencer game?
And the mother of all mysteries: Does your follower count decide how much money you make?
Hopper HQ, a social media management and marketing solutions service has released a ‘Rich List’ that ranks Instagram influencers from various categories such as entertainment, beauty, lifestyle, sports, fashion and travel, based on how much they charge per every sponsored post they put up.
The top-20 list goes like this:
As a fellow Indian, you may be disappointed to find only two desi names on the Top 20 Richest Instagram Influencers’ list. Yes, Priyanka Chopra and Virat Kohli are the only two Indians who made the cut. While Chopra, on an average, charges Rs 1,86,89,271 per post, making her the 19th richest Influencer, Kohli charges INR 1,35,16,963 from his sponsors.
On the brighter side though, Chopra and Kohli are also the top money-makers among Asian celebrities on Instagram.
Apart from Portuguese football legend Christiano Ronaldo, the top five spots are comfortably occupied by women. The trend is pretty obvious if one analyses the list by region and category (though men rule the sports category by a lion's share).
In India, Chopra’s sponsored posts are way more expensive than Kohli’s, and the rest of Asia reflects a similar trend. Out of the top Asians making the most money from their sponsored posts on Instagram, only three Influencers are men.
