If you open Twitter and check your feed, the one hashtag that will leave you both confused and curious would be #BTSTourInIndia.
That is, if you are not a KPop fan. If you are one, you’d know this is the work of the Bangtang ‘ARMY’, or the fans of internationally popular k-pop group called ‘BTS’ in India.
BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan is a popular south Korean Kpop boy band consisting of members V, J-Hope, RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga. They enjoy a massive fan following internationally, India being no exception.
They were recently seen at the Grammys 2019 stage announcing the Best R&B album winner of the year, and subsequently appeared on American talk shows like Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen Show and Good Morning America to promote their latest album.
The boy band recently announced their next tour to Europe and the United States of America, leaving their Indian fans in utter dismay.
With an aim to invite attention from the artists and their management agency in south Korea, Indian fans of BTS started tweeting with #BTSTourInIndia. Going by what this account claims, within 20 minutes of doing so, the fans have managed to get the hashtag trending in India.
Their ultimate aim is to see it trending internationally so that BTS take notice of it and announce India as their next tour destination.
