Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s much-awaited War is here. The movie is action-packed with Tiger’s jaw dropping stunts and Hrithik’s machismo. So should you spend your money and time on this week’s release? Here is our honest review.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, War is the story of Indian agent Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who has gone rogue and his young protege Khalid (Tiger Shroff). Khalid, who was trained by Kabir, is entrusted with the task of tracking and eliminating his mentor.
What ensues is a 150-minute-long tale of high drama, action, emotion and confusion. Confusion, because despite high adrenaline rush in the film, the story lacks substance.
The first half has pace but second half is a drag towards the end. Director Siddharth Anand has used up the entire inventory of Yash Raj Films to ensure the film lands heavy on each department. That is why some action sequences remind you of Dhoom 2, Bang-Bang and Baaghi (not a yrf film but has Tiger).
The dialogues pack a punch at some places but largely they miss the mark. Hrithik's performance as a rogue agent is right on the money but Tiger’s? Well, his stunts and dance steps compensate for it.
Vaani Kapoor is also a part of the film but her role is too short to be noticed. Apart from them, Ashutosh Rana plays the role of Colonel Luthra, who is basically the incharge of Kabir and Khalid.
War is not at all a boring flick, in fact by far it’s the best action flick of the two stars' careers so far. It certainly lacks new ideas as far as the storyline goes but if you are a hardcore Hrithik or Tiger fan, you are certainly in for a treat. So check out our honest movie review and decide for yourself whether to go or not to go to War.
