There’s so much to experience over the five days of Lakme Fashion Week. From designers showcasing their latest collections to music, food, dance, it’s an annual extravaganza that celebrates creativity and style. This year’s edition focused mainly on sustainability, which influenced the collections of top designers like Anita Dongre, Rohit Bal and Narendra Kumar.

Highlights included new lines from Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva and Varun Bahl, Gauri and Nainika’s ‘Art of Latte’ collection and Rohit Bal’s Kashmir Collection - the designer shared the ramp with the seven women artisans who had worked with him on each creation.

Sustainable fashion was the focus of the second day. New fabrics, techniques and designs were showcased and a special show featuring work by weavers from Assam and Odisha was organised by Lakme Fashion Week in collaboration with UN India.

Pero and Woolmark Company’s show was a hit. They transported the audience to the streets of Paris with their interesting wool wear, which the designer claims can be worn in summers too.

Think of simple, wearable fashion? Tahweave by Sweta Tantia and Sonam and Paras Modi’s collections were just that. With some ikat and checks on cotton with a play of belts, the Tahweave collection had it all for your summer wardrobe. Sonam and Paras Modi’s collection was all about floral patterns in whites and blues. With jackets, shararas, lehengas and pants on offer, it’s the perfect match for a summer wedding.

If you’re a bride to be, Anita Dongre’s collection will have you sorted and the bridesmaids can easily look at Sukriti and Akriti’s collection which played on whites and all pieces come with pockets. And if you’re looking for some trendy day wear for work, look no further than Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva.
