Lets be honest, even if we said we were waiting to see Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh at their wedding, what we were really waiting to see was what #DeepVeer would wear! The interminable wait, the hazy, crazy, shaky shots of people ducking behind black umbrellas were suddenly made all worth it by the release of two pictures that were no less than a wedding feast equivalent of fashion.
And now the Maestro Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has released two videos that show us the behind-the-scenes making of the two outfits that practically made all of us stand still, basking in their reddish glow.
From the edible looking ornamental buttons on Ranveer’s sherwani to the weave of the brocade fabric and the tassels on his silk shawl, we can feast our eyes on some close ups of the clothes that make us feel we are this close to touching them.
With the embroidered golden peacocks on her hem to “Sada Saubhagyavati Raho”’ on her Dupatta, we see the making of all the Oooh and Aaah moments we had when we first got our first glimpses of Deepika the bride.
While ‘head to toe’ in Sabyasachi seems to be a theme on his instagram account, that claim got him into a sort of pinch when it was pointed out that the Konkani ceremony had Deepika actually wear a Sari gifted by Deepika’s mum. But the little slip up wasn’t something an elegant post on instagram could fix, which he did with the words below.
Deepika and Ranveer have since been seen in more Sabya outfits which include His and Her airport looks and her look for the post wedding party in Mumbai. What she will be wearing at her Bollywood reception tonight is still anyone guess although one can be almost sure that it will be Sabya. Ranveer on the other hand has been seen wearing Rohit Bal for the Bangalore reception and Manish Arora for the Mumbai party.
