As the competition among aspirants to get admissions into top colleges becomes fiercer each passing year, a Surat-based girl Stuti Khandwala left everyone surprised with her excellent performance in not just one, but several competitive exams, regarded as some of the toughest in the world.
These include NEET 2019, JEE-Main and exams for AIIMS and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
Not just that, her score in the Class 12 board exam was 98.7 percent.
Speaking exclusively to Quint Neon, Stuti Khandwala shared how she had to give up on television and other hobbies like reading for a good three years prior to the entrances. She would only watch Tom & Jerry, the american classic cartoon and cooking videos on YouTube if and when she got bored. With her 12 to 13 hour study routine, its not a surprise that she didn't have time to squeeze in her hobbies.
But what did Stuti Khandwala do after her ace performances in these exams? Offered a 90 percent scholarship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), she took the decision to pursue research in Bio-Engineering at the premier institute.
When asked about why she chose to give preference to research over becoming a doctor or an engineer, she said:
Apart from her 98.7 percent score in the board examinations, Khandwala got 71 all-India rank in NEET, and 10 in AIIMS.
