Spidey’s roaming the neighbourhood and making sure it’s friendly yet again. Pegged as this summer’s biggest Marvel release, ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ marks the beginning of Marvel’s Phase 4. This time, Spidey, while on holiday in Europe, will battle forces from a parallel universe... or should I say multi-verse?
The movie stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury and Zendaya as MJ. The story begins with Spidey and his friends going to Europe for a holiday. To give you a rough idea about where the world is at, Thanos has been defeated, Tony Stark is dead and the Avengers are, to be very blunt, on a holiday. Of course, what was meant to be a fun trip becomes yet another duty-call. Spidey finds himself assisted by a new hero named Mysterio, in his fight against the Elementals.
Will Spidey save the day? And, who is this super mysterious Mysterio dude... is he really a good guy? Can Spider-Man live up to Tony Stark’s standards and become the next Iron Man? All this, you’re going to have to find out by yourself because I ain’t giving you no spoilers here.
Insofar as the film is concerned, it’s fun, paced just right and the VFX is impressive, especially Mysterio’s choice of weaponry: hallucinations. The film is an apt two hours and nine minutes long and keeps the vibe of the first instalment intact.
And, there are two post-credit scenes so don’t leave the theatre after watching the first. No spoilers but the end credits are pretty mind-blowing!
So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, sit back, grab some popcorn and get ready for yet another web-swinging adventure with your very own neighbourhood hero, Spider-Man. We have tried to be honest AF in the review and comments are always welcome!
