Reddit users express concern regarding safety for women and children in Yogi’s UP.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday stated that no one in his state would dare harm cows. His statement came at a time when 30 children had died within 48 hours at Gorakhpur's Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College Hospital. Bemused at the CM’s fierce defense of cows in the face of rising concerns about safety for women and children in UP, Reddit users were quick to diagnose the problem in the state.

A user pointed out the problem with emphasising ‘gau raksha’ while children are dying in hospitals.

One user asked whether cow protection was more important an agenda for Adityanath than ensuring safety for women and children.

Some say the obsession with cows is exactly what the people of UP voted for.

“NRI’s love Modi and Yogi”. Why is that?
