Being a commentator can be difficult at times. One has to keep making comments the entire day and the sports fans expect the commentators to stand by their words every time.

Former Kiwi player Scott Styris made a strong statement during the third ODI between India and New Zealand when the part-time spinner Kedar Jadhav was introduced into the attack.

Jadhav, who just sticks to basics while bowling, has been picking up wickets regularly in the series, and that might have upset Styris.

Therefore, when Jadhav got ready to bowl, Styris said:

I will walk out of the commentary box, and take the first flight to New Zealand if Jadhav takes a wicket today.

However, in the last ball of Jadhav’s second over, the off-spinner trapped the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson LBW.

Styris, like a true gentleman, said it was a pleasure, dropped the mic and walked out of the commentary box.

Misery didn’t end there for the former New Zealand all-rounder. He was later asked about his whereabouts on Twitter and Styris didn’t disappoint again.

Jadhav went on to pick up figures of 3/29 and India eventually won the match by seven wickets.
