If you’ve been on the internet today, chances are that you came across the story of a photographer — Vivek Sequeira of Luxe Captures — who reportedly shot Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s grand wedding.
In an interview to Story Infinity, posted on The News Minute, 47-year-old Sequeira was quoted as saying that when he was asked to cover the wedding, he had no idea who the clients were.
Almost as soon as the interview hit social media, the story of how Sequeira and his team of photographers captured over 1.2 lakh images of the most talked about wedding of the year went viral.
A cursory glance at Sequeira’s Facebook page threw up some hints regarding his coverage of the Ambani wedding. For instance, the above picture — which has now been removed — was posted on 16 December, one day after Isha and Anand’s Mumbai reception. The caption read, “Just finished covering India’s Biggest ever Wedding! [sic].”
The message was taken down from Instagram within three hours of posting.
When The Quint reached out to Luxe Captures for clarification regarding the message, we were told that the company can neither deny nor confirm if they covered the Ambani-Piramal wedding or not.
The firm also said that the ‘rumour’ that Sequeira’s social media post talked about referred to “misquoting of information” in the Story Infinity article, and that the company were trying to get it fixed.
The series of events have raised some unanswered questions, deepening the mystery behind the Ambani-Piramal wedding photographer.
