Indian food is bad.
Literally no one ever said that until Tom Nichols, a US professor and academic specialist on international affairs shared his *most controversial* opinion indeed. Replying to this tweet:
Tom Nichols replied:
Mr. Nichols, please don’t say ‘WE’.
Because I don’t see a research paper attached here that tells me you went out, studied and talked to people to see why they (assumingly) don’t appreciate Indian cuisine.
And you can blame me for being a ‘desi’ to defend my food, but here are some Hollywood celebrities who vouch for Indian cuisine and run for a bite as soon as possible.
“Last time I was here, I had a party and it (Indian cuisine) was the best food I had ever had in my entire life,” says Will Smith.
It’s not new information that Julia Roberts is borderline obsessed with ‘Hinduism’ and when she was in India shooting for Eat, Pray, Love the actress was seen gorging on chapatis, aloo gobi and mutter paneer.
So Nichols...
If reports are to be believed, Lady Gaga ate hot curries thrice a day for a month when she got off her diet. She loves chicken lababdaar and spicy food.
According to a BBC report, when Tom Cruise was shooting for Mission Impossible, he had a major craving for Indian cuisine. The actor rushed to the nearest Indian restaurant to grab his favourite lobster and chicken tikka masala. The actor ate to his heart’s content when he realised the bill was £220.85, which he failed to pay with his American Express card.
If you have heard a lot about the curries and the tikka masala, then here’s a unique recommendation from Madonna. She suggests that you can diet and still satiate your urge to eat carbs if you cook them in South Indian style.
So, how about trying these out, Mr Nichols?
