Instagram has very quickly gained momentum to become one of the most popular social media platforms since it was launched in 2010. As this photo sharing website decided to change its algorithm just a little bit, Instagram users lost their cool and started panicking.
A few days ago, Instagram announced that to improve the user experience on its app, it would show the feeds in order of the user’s preferences. It simply means that posts from people who you interact with regularly will appear before the posts from people you interact with less.
As Instagram proposed this feature, it also clearly mentioned that user feedback was welcome and it would not do anything that users do not like. Nevertheless, people lost their cool and started panicking.
Unaware of what the update truly means, here is how pictures were instantly shared that urged the people to turn on the notifications for their page, which means that they will be alerted each time they share a post.
Frustrated by this constant nagging, the Instagram users turned to Twitter to express their rage and #RIPInstagram started trending.
And by the way, Instagram has now officially announced that it will roll out the suggested changes.
So, all you panicked Instagram users, just stop with this ‘turn on notification updates’ already.
