You only get lucky once in a lifetime. Well, that notion has been challenged by a couple from northern England who seem to be getting the better of it every time they try their luck.
Meet David and Kathleen long, who have defied incredible odds of 283 billion to one and scripted history by winning the £1 million EuroMillions lottery twice in a span of two years.
And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also won a top-of-the-range Jaguar as well.
In 2013, the couple had won £1 million ($1.5 million) for the first time. Then, on Friday, they won another £1 million ($1.5 million) in another EuroMillions lottery draw.
‘Just can’t believe it’s actually true’, David told the MailOnline. He also told the newspaper that he had a feeling that he was going to win again.
I always knew I’d win, even the first time. I just had a feeling it was going to be me’.

David Long, 59, a retired truck driver is reported to have said that he played his usual numbers and watched in amazement as they came up. His wife, Kathleen, had to verify them. He now plans to take his wife on a cruise, as he’s run out of excuses not to go now. A party is also planned.
The couple currently live in static caravan in Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire and plan to buy a new mansion, with bar and games room, with their new found wealth.
Interestingly, David nearly missed his first win, in July 2013, when he misread his numbers and thought he’d only won £2.70. He threw the ticket in the dustbin, only fishing it out on a whim when he decided to go to the shop to buy a paper. “By the time I’d got to the shop I realised it was worth a heck of a lot more,” David told The Guardian.
