The way to a man’s the heart is the stomach. Right?

The authorities at the Tokyo Metro get it! Recently, they came up with a really creative solution to reduce congestion during rush hours - offer free food to all the early commuters!

Yes, you heard it right.

A plate of free soba noodles with tempura is up for grabs for all those who are willing to take part in this new plan to ease overcrowding in one of the busiest lines in Tokyo. But like always, good things come with 'terms & conditions'!

The offer was launched on 21 January and is valid till 1 February for the passengers on Tokyo's Tozai Line. The passengers have to register first, and then take the train early for 10 consecutive weekdays.

The registered passengers will be eligible to avail coupons that can be redeemed at Metro An, a soba noodle shop affiliated with the subway operator.

Let’s get soba noodles everyone!

The Tokyo Metro has been regularly sharing the number of people participating. According to their Twitter handle, 8000+ people are participating in the campaign!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been really supportive of such initiatives to reduce peak hour-congestion, suggesting people go to work either before 8 am or after 9 am!
