These High Divers in Kosovo Have Restarted an Age-old Tradition

A 60-year-old high diving competition was held in Kosovo on Sunday, which was once interrupted by the 1998-99 war.

A high diving competition – that was once interrupted by the 1998-99 war – was revived in Kosovo on Sunday

The competition, which dates back about 60 years, drew a crowd of hundreds who sat along the banks of the White Drin river to watch 20 divers compete for the first prize.

Each competitor dived off the Fshajt Bridge, 22 metres (72 feet) into the water below. The winner of the competition was 28-year-old Florit Gashi who won the 500 euro prize money.
