The many twists and turns of the Yadav parivar bickering has not only got us all confused but also interested in how this drama would possibly end.
But, however it ends, you’ve gotta admit, this entire SP plot is nothing less than any Bollywood film. From Hum Saath-Saath Hain to Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, this family has added enough tadka in our daily lives that we at The Quint decided to decode the Yadav parivar’s family feud.
But this time it’s going to be thoda hatke and in a filmy andaz.
In 2012, it was all hunky-dory for the Yadav family as the Samajwadi Party, for the first time, clinched an absolute majority in the Uttar Pradesh assembly. This made Papa Yadav so happy that he went all ‘Mulayam’ in his heart and made his son Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister. All's well that ends well.
Err, maybe not...
Mulayam Singh Yadav: Aaj mere paas cycle hai, party hai, Shivpal Yadav hai, Amar Singh hai... kya hai, kya hai tumhare pass?
Ram Gopal Yadav: Mere paas... Akhilesh hai!
And that was the last brick in the Samajwadi Party’s wall.
Netaji – the ‘Bagbhan’ of the party could not tolerate his son’s unconstitutional behaviour and expelled him for six years. But papaji was ‘man seh Mulayam’ and welcomed him back with open arms.
This is parivar...
This is the story of Samajwadi Party. The flower that has stopped blossoming thanks to its gardeners (Mulayam and Akhilesh), who have sowed the seeds of discontent.
Politics is not a game. It’s about fighting that lies within (the party). And who better to explain this than papa-chacha-bhatija.
They’ll bring the house/party down!
