Shah Rukh Khan met with acid attack survivors in Kolkata on Wednesday. Shah Rukh Khan started the Meer Foundation in 2017 to empower acid attack survivors. This comes on the heels of Deepika Padukone’s first look from her upcoming movie Chhapaak. The movie is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi.
The actor posted a picture with the survivors on his Twitter profile and asked his fans to pay for the women.
The actor spent some time with the survivors, who have undergone corrective surgeries through Meer Foundation’s #ToGETherTransformed initiative. The surgeries are taking place in New Delhi, Varanasi and Kolkata through March.
He was in the city to watch a match between his team, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab.
And like all previous season, Knight Riders’ fans saw the familiar face of KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan in the stands. Shah Rukh was seen standing at one of the many corporate boxes, along with co-owner Juhi Chawla and KKR CEO Venky Mysore.
Shah Rukh, when not shooting, has attended most of KKR’s matches in the previous eleven editions of the IPL.
He is clearly a pro at juggling both work commitments and social work.
