After Reliance Jio unleashed its zero-cost packages and marketing blitzkrieg, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have taken a massive heat. A full-blown corporate war has broken out since then between Reliance and the other camp.

So, when Reliance Jio tweeted its three rivals on Valentine’s Day, the public display of affection had tweeples surprised (never mind the cheeky tone of the tweet). And the objects of affection returned the love. Here’s how the bitter telecom rivals love saga played out in Twitter-sphere.

As people debated whether it was a sarcastic joke on Jio’s part or came from a good place, Airtel replied back with their tagline from a few ads ago : #HarEkFriendZarooriHotaHai.

Now was that a subtle hint at Jio to befriend the other telecom giants and stop its monopolistic disruptive data pricing so everyone can get along? Well, we can only take a guess.

Sarcastic or not, Vodafone and Idea Cellular were a sport and tweeted back some love to Jio. Vodafone India replied back with a rather animated tweet sporting the brand’s mascot, Zoo Zoo, while Idea Cellular commented how love was in the air.
