Redditors feel that either AIB is trying too hard to be funny or it’s facing a creative block.

Look at the date, we are well into March. And that means just one thing – Exams!

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. Right now, the students of this country are suffering from only one kind of fever: not yellow, not viral but the “exam fever”. But what if the exams were not limited to those quintessential subjects such as English, History, Geography, Maths and so on. What if we had an exam on... memes?

Yes, you’ve heard it right. And though the idea seems amusing, the comedy group AIB (All India Bakchod) has somehow managed to make it unfunny with their latest video “If Memes Had Exams”.

Imagine a world where the only way to pass an exam is to study the different types of memes – wholesome memes, classical art memes, international memes and whatnot! A world where you need to calculate the slope of Priya Prakash Varrier’s left eyebrow using a graph and write an essay on Justin Trudeau’s son.

Think you would ace it? Well, maybe.

But alas, AIB didn’t!

Soon after the video was published, Redditors started criticising the comedy group, The comments ranged from “they were trying too hard to be funny” to “this video is a reflection of their creative block”.

Take a look at some of the comments:

First of all, why does AIB think that using words like “normies” and “danks” is cool? (Hey, even I am a millennial and these two words are not a part of my daily vocabulary.)

Second of all, the jokes were all too obvious. So, although I was waiting for the punchline, I fell asleep even waiting for it.

And thirdly, having a girl in the video who can raise her eyebrows like Priya Prakash Varrier was, well, a good idea. That scene was actually the only one that made me... smirk. No, nothing in the video made me laugh.

So, although the idea of the video was quite relatable (I mean who doesn’t enjoy a good meme) and this comedy group may have created a lot of buzz with their recent “Pyaar Ek Dhoka Hai” campaign, that’s all in the past.

Sadly, they failed this exam.
