The teaser of the much-awaited Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan is finally out. The one minute 30 second teaser is heavily loaded with Sallu power — it’s not the teaser but the timing of its release that’s perfect for Bhaijaan.
Naam toh dekho — Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It has Bajrangi, a named derived from Bajranbali and Salman makes one helluva Bajrangbali bhakt. And it has Bhaijaan, the name Sallu is fondly referred to with. Seriously, it can’t get better than this. Even Sallu bhai couldn’t have asked for more.
The story is about a little girl from Pakistan, who is “lost in India.” Lost “without her voice”, the little girl in tears makes for a heartbreaking sight, but guess who’s her savior? Bhaijaan, duh! — “a man with a heart”.
Wah! Aasu agaye! This is what being human is all about.
In the teaser, one hears Salman in the background, “hum Bajrangbali ke bhakt hain… Jhooth nahin boltey…” Ha! So who was driving the SUV in 2002?
Bhaijaan and Eid have a perfect moon alignment. Both Dabaang and Bodyguard were released on Eid and did phenomenally well. Wanted was released during Ramzan, but the movie picked up only after Eid. Hence, it comes as no surprise that Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated to be released on Eid this year. After all, in God we trust. Right bhai?
Salman’s fans have had a rough last few months with bhai’s on and off court appeals. Finally a breather, Bajrangi Bhaijaan brings back the amusing and colourful moves of Sallu. This is exactly the ‘kick’ people wanted.
