Gone were the trademark ‘India wants to know’ questions. Gone were the wagging fingers and high pitch. Gone also, was the classic, rambunctious, forever angry persona.

Narendra Modi’s Times Now interview with editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami on Monday was big enough to warrant a PMSpeaksToArnab hashtag on Twitter. While some appreciated (with much sarcasm) the not-so feisty tone Arnab adopted, others were angry with Modi ji for choosing to give an ‘exclusive’ interview.

Either way, Twitter had a field day (and night.)

Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal was too angry to put out a fresh tweet. After searching for an appropriate tweet from two years ago, he reiterated that Goswami is an ardent Modi supporter.

Congress leader Kapil Sibal could not resist the temptation of taking a dig at Modi.

Wait, what?

What exactly does “our” journalists imply here, Sibal ji?

Um, a Freudian slip is our best bet.

Fellow journalists had their fair share of remarks to make on the interview.

Hartosh Singh Bal, Political Editor of Caravan magazine asked some legitimate questions.

We weren’t the only ones who noticed the unfamiliar tone and lack of circus-esque antics by Goswami.

Not only were journalists shocked with Arnab’s politeness, they couldn’t quite believe he could do anything apart from shouting.

And then there were some who were overwhelmed by the Prime Minister’s brilliant interview.
