Ever wondered what would happen in case of a zombie apocalypse? How prepared is our government for dealing with it?
One enterprising Mumbaikar, Ajay Kumar, filed an RTI asking the home ministry what is their plan of action in case of a zombie attack (and if we could do without Will Smith by our side) which was uploaded by YourRTI.in
His concerns pertain to the readiness of the government in the event of an invasion by aliens and extra dimensional beings. While social media had a field day over the query, he told HuffingtonPost that he filed the RTI with utmost sincerity.
The home ministry took the time to respond to his query saying it can only give out information which is not hypothetical in nature.
Kumar said that the government focusses on non-issues and makes it a point to reply to them while ignoring the real issues that people face. He meant it as a jab at the entire intolerance debate that gripped the nation earlier this year.
With the government so embroiled in finding out who is an anti-national and who isn’t, he wanted to waste more of the government’s time, which is exactly what happened as his query got a prompt response.
However, Kumar was shocked that his RTI request has been leaked, saying it was against the procedure.
This is not the first time he filed a “protest” RTI as earlier he filed one related to “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, asking what is the difference between Jai Hind and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Or if Bharat Mata is a protected emblem or ensign in India.
The home ministry said they have no response to the query.
