After much furore and delay, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat finally hit theatres on Thursday, 25 January. The film’s release, however, comes with its own set of problems as Karni Sena, the fringe group that has been threatening jauhar, among other things, has taken to protesting violently against the release.

Torching cars and attacking school buses never won anybody any fans; the Sena has, unsurprisingly, attracted a lot of derision – online and otherwise – following their activities.

They have also (again, unsurprisingly) become the centre of jokes on social media.

We’ve hand-picked some of the most amusing tweets trolling the Sena for continuing to disrupt the peace.

Enjoy!
