On 17th April 2019, Jet Airways cancelled all its flights after the crucial emergency funding of Rs 400 crore was rejected by the lenders.
This incident did create a lot of confusion and angst among the passengers who had their flights booked, but there were others for whom the road ahead appears bleak and uncertain. Yes, we are talking about the employees of Jet Airways.
As a step to fight this tragic situation, using the hashtag #WeTheEmployees and #WingsClipped, the employees and their families have been putting out videos to make everyone understand what happens during such company crises.
I feel that the government is trying to help us by creating more jobs, and working with investors to revive this airline, but the process is quite slow. The biggest help is still being waited for – our pending salaries. Why did the committee not instruct Mr. Goyal to pay our pending dues before he was forced to step down from the board?

Recently my wings were clipped as the company where I had seen my father for since I was a little girl, no longer exists. This adversity impacted my dreams of studying further, as the hefty college fee my father was saving up for is all that is left for a family of six, to manage their household expenses. I feel helpless when I see my father, who dedicated almost 21 years of his life to the company now being stressed out about finding another job.

The employees and their families are in a state of shock and despair as not only was their salary pending, but to add another baggage to their worries, they are all unemployed.
