The mercury is rising and so are the tempers. So what you really need to do is cool down, relax with a drink, dress light, feel comfortable all day, and yet pull off your outfits with much aplomb.

Well, look no further. We’ve dug out four items from your school days that can be worn without making any dramatic changes to it! All you need to do is fish them out of your closet and pair them up with a few essentials.

PS: 12th graders, make sure you don’t throw these out!

Remember the PT shoes you spent days whitening with pieces of chalk? It turns out there is much more to them than those physical training classes. They are back in fashion circles, and if you don’t own one yet, you probably would want to soon enough!

Dig those old beauties out and pair them up with your favourite jeans, summer dresses, or even maxi dresses. Fashion Alert – be careful before you go all white. You may end up looking like a mummy!

Next comes the pin-striped uniform shirts. Who would have thought that your school uniform would make its way into snazzy stores one day? Try your school shirt out with jeans, trousers, or skirts. Everything works with this one as long as you don’t pair stripes with stripes. We can’t help but think of a zebra.

The little lunchbox you carried in school? If you think you have it in you to be a trendsetter, try carrying it around like a handbag. Trust us, if you are doing it right, you are onto something!

Finally, the good old pleated skirt that was a part of your uniform as well. Get your crop tops and shirts out, tuck them in and pair your skirt with a comfortable pair of sandals or sneakers.

With a drink in one hand and an outfit to die for, are you telling us you are still annoyed with the heat?
