A person having an orgasm is at their most vulnerable, relaxed and intimate state of being. Lithuanian photographer Albert Pocej captured women orgasming in a stunning series of photographs.

What was most challenging for him was finding models for his project who would be willing to let something so personal get captured on camera.

Shot in black and white, the photos really let the viewer focus on the expression rather than getting distracted by a flurry of colours.

It was a personal challenge for him to shoot this project, which he simply knew was something he had to do.

Pocej initially had 20 models but when it came down to the shoot, only 15 remained as he told them that he did not want any acting, but the real, raw experience.

The Lithuanian photographer used time-lapse as he took a photograph at every second, and he was nowhere around the models so that they could relax.

With some other models, he manually shot their photographs.

The Quint spoke to Pocej about how he went about the project.

The whole project took 3 months. The preparation took one month and the next 2 months was the shooting.

The photoshoots were done in outdoor locations, but we had to find quiet spaces.

The preparation of the shoot took two hours and the actual shoot time varied from 5 minutes to half an hour, he told The Quint.

He did not want the photos to be a cliche but a way to get people thinking, which is why they had to be a real depiction of the feeling.

Since he published the series, it has gotten a lot of positive feedback and has been shared nearly 1,000 times on Facebook.
