On 22 March, Uttar Pradesh’s new Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a ban on plastic, pan masala, and gutka in all government establishments with immediate effect.

“The CM has advised against the use of pan masala, plastic and pan in government buildings and offices,” Keshav Prasadd Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said.
