Following an enormous data breach, Google is set to shut down the social networking platform, Google+.

Having seen Facebook being under scrutiny for leaking out user data to Cambridge Analytica, Google refrained from disclosing the news of the leak in the fear of regulatory enforcement, reported The Guardian.

The API for the platform was facing a technical bug that had been allowing third-party app developers to breach the personal data of users.

The bug affected about 500k accounts, according to reports. The company has resolved to introduce more safety controls for users and to limit the involvement of third-party app developers in Google accounts.

Here Goes Nothing, Literally

The whole incident attracted hilarious reactions owing to the-not-so-popular status of the social networking platform among users.
