An Australian lamb advertisement landed the Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) in hot soup after it showed Ganesha eating meat. It showed different religious deities, from Zeus and Aphrodite to Jesus and the Hindu god Ganesha, all enjoying a lamb meal.

While MLA ads are known to be tongue-and-cheek and have often invited praise and criticism on social media, the Hindu community in Australia has expressed disapproval over the ad and have even asked authorities to take it down.

While some people expressed disapproval of the ad, quite a few supported it and said that it is just an ad and doesn’t need to be made an issue of. Here are some of the comments that we received on social media.
