US President Donald Trump sent the internet into a meltdown on 31 May, when he tweeted: “Despite the constant negative press covfefe...”

What Does He Mean?

Did he mean to use the word “coverage”? You never know with Trump.

It may just have been a typo, but the damage had been done. Twitter had a field day with this new word, that in all likelihood, will be used in Trump references for a long time to come.

Here are some of the reactions:

As of 31 May, Google already has 58,900 search results for a word that did not exist up until a few hours ago. Don’t be surprised if ‘covfefe’ is included in the Oxford dictionary soon.
