A video is being wildly shared across social media that shows a Beluga whale coming to a human’s rescue. This adorable whale retrieved a woman’s phone after she accidentally dropped it in the sea. The whale’s heroic act has made it a social media sensation, making millions going ‘aww.’

But this crazy story doesn’t end here.

The whale was suspected to be a Russian spy and a child therapist, as reported by The Guardian. What a wholesome CV, little whale!

Since the whale’s job profile is just speculations, we need not get too jealous of it or reconsider the constructs of human life.

Taking a closer look at the video, we can assume that the whale was being a good Samaritan, loves interacting with the visitors, and wants to earn some brownie points with this cool little trick.

Or, maybe it was just tired of the garbage the humans produce and pollute its underwater habitat with, and was returning back the junk.

With the constantly deteriorating situation of their ecosystem, this act by the beluga couldn’t be better timed. As netizens adore the whale and share its video through the Internet, we hope people also sensitise themselves on the little whale’s deep-sea world that needs conservation. It’s about time we took the hint and stopped dropping cellphones in water, using plastic straws and depriving these innocent creatures of a safe environment.
