In a heart-melting moment, the Australian Parliament witnessed history on Tuesday when Senator Larissa Waters became the first woman to breast-feed her baby in the top political institution.
Larissa brought along her second child Alia Joy on the first day of her work after the delivery. And little did her daughter know she would be leaving an indelible mark in Australian politics!
Waters took to Twitter to express her joy and also leave a message advocating woman empowerment in politics:
Incidentally, it was just last year that several rules were introduced to make the parliament a more "family-friendly" one – with Waters playing a key role in effecting these changes.
Her colleague Senator Katy Gallagher also greeted the move, as she told Sky News:
