Airbnb Host Banned as She Dumped a Guest for Being an Asian

An Airbnb host mistreated a guest and denied her a rental because of her race. The host has been banned from the rental site after the guest showed a text conversation between her and the host and accused her of being racist. When the guest said that she would report the case to Airbnb, the host texted,

“Go ahead. I wouldn’t rent to you if you were the last person on earth. One word says it all. Asian.”

When the guest showed the screenshots of the conversation, the host who was a Trump supporter, wrote, “And I will not allow this country to be told what to do by foreigners. It’s why we have trump.” The guest has been staying in America since she was 3 years old and said that she considers herself an American.

In a statement to The Huffington Post, Airbnb spokesman Christopher Nulty said, “We have worked to provide the guest with our full support and in line with our non-discrimination policy, this host has been permanently removed from the Airbnb platform.”

Airbnb also told The Huffington Post, “ the incident happened in February near Big Bear, California. It has gained traction now after a video taken of the tearful guest the night of the racist exchange has gone viral.”
