Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will reach India this afternoon. His parents boarded a flight from Chennai to Delhi last evening in order to receive him as soon as he lands home.
When the passengers found out whom they were sharing the flight with, they honoured the Wing Commander’s parents with claps and cheers.

Keeping in mind the sacrifices made by the Indian armed forces, a Twitter user said, “ That's the way the armed forces and their families should be treated”.
Twitter users described them as the “real heroes” and “proud parents”, as they can be seen leaving the flight with a smile!
The “heartwarming” gesture by the people on the flight was lauded by tweeple.
