The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and actor Meghan Markle is special and groundbreaking for many reasons. With Markle’s divorce and nationality, the couple’s journey has not been an easy one. However, fighting against all odds, Markle and Prince Harry’s romance has won the hearts of millions of people, worldwide. And with their wedding just around the corner, it is now more than ever that the people want to know their love story.
American cable movie production house Lifetime picked up the second segment of A Royal Romance, which takes the viewers through the ups and downs of Harry and Markle’s time together.
Previously, renowned US-based movie house, Hallmark, had produced a TV movie by the same name, which recounted the journey of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, before their wedding.
The movie, which premiered in the United States on 13 May, portrays various phases of Markle and Harry’s romantic journey: the extensive backlash from the British media, a certain reluctance from The Royal Family, and Harry’s official statement asking the media to respect Markle’s privacy, the movie gets incredibly candid and personal about the difficulties in the couple’s love story.
However, the movie has received a mixed response from its viewers. While some users praised the impeccable cast selection when it came to Markle’s role, there were others who felt that the Duchess of Cambridge had been portrayed in a negative light, and that the actor playing Prince William looked significantly elder than him.
Some users were also worried that the fiction-backed portrayal of events might be mistaken for reality.
While we are not sure as to if or when Lifetime will bring the movie to the Indian tele space, one can always hope for the best, until then, follow The Quint for regular updates on the latest royal wedding.
