Let’s talk about love in the digital age or the lack of it. The big question – is cyber infidelity a thing now? Looking at this soon to be divorced married couple in Ajman, the answer is most likely a yes. Before you rack your brains too much, the “other one” in this scenario is, um, no one really. This couple is breaking up over “PUBG”.

Did you exhale a ‘what even? Yeah, so did we. A young woman in her 20’s is seeking divorce from her husband as he forbade her from playing the online game PUBG, reported Gulf News.

Captain Wafa Khalil Al Hosani , director of the social centre at Ajman police told Gulf News about how this divorce case was among the most bizarre cases that the centre’s ever received.

Apparently, the wife’s addiction with the game got so out of hand that the husband felt it was disrupting with her daily functioning and responsibilities towards their home and family.

The woman told the police officer that all she sought from the game was entertainment. The game comforted her and she wasn’t exposing herself to strangers to create a reason of doubt in her husband’s mind. “I was playing the game only with friends and relatives”, she said.

The husband claims that his objection to playing the game only came from a place of concern and was in no way a means to suppress her freedom.

Addiction and excesses are wrong indeed but calling a marriage off just because your husband has a problem with you playing PUBG is a bit extreme, don’t you think?

Well who’s to say what’s wrong and right when it comes to the matters of the heart!
