Plastic need not always result in unmanageable waste.
Because Hyderabad-based mechanical engineer, Professor Satish Kumar has come up with the idea of converting plastic to fuel!
According to News18’s Medabayani Balakrishna, Mr. Kumar has managed to achieve that with just three steps, using the method of plastic pyrolysis.
According to the report, 50 tonnes of non recyclable plastic has been converted into fuel through Mr. Kumar’s endeavors since 2016.
Presently, his company, which he has registered with the MSME ( ministry of small and medium enterprises) has been producing about 200 litre of petrol every day, out of 200kg plastic and selling it to local industries at only Rs 40/50 per litre.
Well, looks like Mr. Kumar has definitely found a hack to check the increasing rate of fuel in the country!
But the amazing thing to note here is that while on one hand, citizens are unmindfully adding on to the amount of plastic waste being produced in the country, we also have a bunch of citizens working their best to find innovative ways to recycle it.
However, the story adds that it is yet to be tested whether the fuel is usable for vehicles or not.
But needless to say, we can all agree that Professor Kumar and his company are doing their best to provide a cleaner environment to not just us, but also future generations!
