RJD leader and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Laloo Prasad Yadav’s Dubsmash video on PM Narendra Modi has once again grabbed attention for parodying his poll promises.
Bringing back an old Dubsmash video, Yadav’s official Twitter handle posted a video of him doing an audio-video dubbing parody of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2014 poll promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in the account of every poor Indian when voted into power.
This was part of a much publicised poll promise that PM Modi had made before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The Tweet captioned “Muft Me Le Lo 15 Lakh, Acche Din Aur Jumla’’ mocked the Prime Minister’s famous promise of “acche din”.
In the video, The RJD supremo is seen speaking to what sounds like Prime Minister Naredra Modi’s voice saying ‘Achche din, achhe din‘, and ‘Hindustan ke ek ek gareeb admi ko mufat main Rs15-20 lakh yun hi mil jayega’ .
The video ends with Laloo Prasad Yadav saying in his own voice, ‘yeh Jumla hai’’, or this is a false promise.
Though not the most elegant video, his reviving it now has certainly brought Laloo Prasad Yadav back into the election conversation at a time when he is unable to electioneer since his bail plea was rejected by the Supreme Court.
Mr Yadav is currently incarcerated in the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi for a multi-crore fodder scam case. He has been in hospital for the past several months on account of a heart related ailment.
With his plea for bail dismissed by the Supreme Court, he was unable to campaign in this the General Elections of 2019. Bihar goes to the polls in all seven phases of voting .
