1st of April.

A day when pretty much anyone can take you for a ride, and you can’t complain about it.

Well, other than that, the day is a celebration of jokes, gags, comedy, pranks, etc.

If only ‘being made a fool of oneself’ was an event limited to April 1.

Unfortunately, round the year, you are bound to come across a headline that literally makes you go ‘You think I am a fool?’.

NASA will pay people Rs 13 Lakhs to stay in bed for 2 months

For years we have frowned upon, cringed at and even feared human testing. Experiments on humans are the cliched plot of any dark sci-fi movie. But it seems NASA has changed the trope altogether.
Yes, NASA is doling out Rs 13 lakhs to folks to just stay in bed for 2 months. What is more, you can spend the time catching up on TV or binge on your favourite Netflix shows.

Just eat, sleep, binge and repeat.

Sounds the kind of job that many would totally sign up for right? With so many ready applicants, we wonder what the screening process would be like.

Beyonce Danced at Isha Ambani’s Sangeet

When this news floated on our social media platforms, many dismissed it as fake news. After all, Mrs Carter doing ‘thumkas’ at a Gujju wedding was unheard of. Turned out it was as true as Salman Khan grooving to the desi beats as a background dancer at the same wedding function. At least she got herself a solo act.

Don’t get us wrong. There is inherently nothing wrong with an international pop star choosing to perform at a billionaire’s daughter’s wedding function. It was simply, a shocker. It definitely made it a tougher playing field for Bollywood stars, now that international biggies have started to eye the Indian shaadi season market.

Upset Over Food, Guests At Delhi Wedding Beat Up Hotel Staff

We know, nobody messes with Indians and their knack for Big fat Indian Weddings (anyone seen Made In Heaven yet?). But even by Delhiites standards of taking their food seriously, this news came as a shocker. We can’t help but go ‘Are you for real?’. Furniture, properties, crockery and people were hurt, all because the guests didn’t like the food.

An Egg Broke Kylie Jenner’s Instagram Record

The Internet did a collective double take when they realised that the most liked picture on Instagram was no longer their beloved millennial idol Kylie Jenner and her baby Stormi- but a rather dull image of what most of them ate for their breakfast - an egg.

Crowned as the World Record Egg, for well, becoming one - it was conceptualised as a viral digital campaign, and soon gained momentum among netizens. While many were quick to figure out that it was a viral campaign - it didn’t stop them from helping the mind behind this ‘egg’ to reach its viral goal.

What’s even more unbelievable is that it has its own parody accounts.

10% quota for Poor Upper Caste: Almost 95% Indians will Qualify

It’s election season and politicians are busy promising away roti, kapra, makan...and quota.

The most talked about one from the long list of overachieving promises that netas have made to the voters, was ofcourse the 10 per cent quota in jobs for general citizens from economically backward families.

The fact that the legislature defines an ‘economically backward’ citizen eligible for this quota as someone who ‘makes less than 8 lakhs an annual income below Rs 8 lakh; holding less than 5 acres of land; having residential house below 1000 sqft; and residential plot not measuring more than 100 square yards’ -- automatically qualifies almost 95 per cent of this country’s population.
A quota that qualifies almost everyone isn’t much of a quota, is it?

Apple Launches it’s Own Brand of Credit Cards

If Tim Cook thinks we didn’t get what he is trying to do, he is oh-so-mistaken. Apple’s real motive of launching a credit card is probably to ensure that all the iPhone ‘stans’ jump into this vicious cycle of debt: they want to buy iPhone - they can’t, because it’s too expensive- so they use their Apple Card to buy it - see what they did there?

They made sure all the money stayed in one happy Apple-owned loop. Now you don’t need to sell your kidney to buy the iPhone, you just need to sell it when you plan to pay off your debt to Apple.

People Burst Crackers While Wearing Anti-Pollution Masks

Last year around Diwali, the whole country was debating on the practice of bursting crackers, given the increasingly deadly pollution in New Delhi and surrounding states.

The matter went to Supreme Court and the apex court set up regulations on bursting crackers before and during Diwali.

Among those unhappy with the verdict, many came up with the perfect solution - burst crackers wearing masks, to save themselves from the pollution.

*facepalm*

‘Irony was killing us more than the smog,’ as MensXP reported.

Alok Nath to Play a Judge in a Film about #MeToo Movement.

Irony not only died here, it probably left a suicide note saying ‘#MeToo’.

When the news that Alok Nath would play a judge in the upcoming film ‘Main Bhi,’ which is based on the MeToo movement in India, hit the stands, readers couldn't believe their eyes.

‘It’s gotta be a joke, right?’ Was the collective thought.

After all, the veteran actor was himself accused of raping an actress years ago, and was sued for the very reasons. Who would in their right mind decide to cast him as the ‘judge’ in a film that promises to tackle the sensitive topic of sexual abuse of power in the entertainment industry?
