Twitter had a field day, as news emerged that Jawed Habib, a celebrity hairstylist and salon magnate has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

And funny folks on Twitter gave everyone, from Yogi Adityanath to Amit Shah, some pretty funky hairdos to mark Habib’s entry into the party!

Habib, meanwhile, had a pretty catchy way to describe his move from hairstyling to politics.

Until today, I was the watchman of hair, but now I have become a watchman of the nation.

No sooner did the joining of Habib become public news, that memes started doing the rounds, playing off on the possible makeovers all the well known leaders of the party would get, now that they had a hairstylist in the party.

Habib runs a very successful hair salon business which runs about 846 salons all over the country. Even though the winds of politics may change every day, the salons are definitely hair to stay!
