The market is hot on dating apps and there are quite a few vying for attention. Tinder came to the Indian market in 2012 and since then there have been several new entrants in the scene: Truly Madly, Hinge, Ok Cupid and now Priyanka Chopra’s latest venture ‘Bumble - Not just a dating app.’

If you haven’t tried Bumble yet, don’t worry. We tried it for you and here are some takeaways and how it’s different from the others in the market.

Basic Features

Bumble has positioned itself as ‘not just a dating app’. So you can in fact look for friendships, find jobs or collaborate on Bumble apart from finding dates - using Bumble Date, Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz.

A ‘match’ works differently on Bumble too. So say you have a match with someone, the catch here is that only the woman can start a conversation. The connection lasts for 24 hours and if the woman doesn’t initiate a conversation, it’s gone...bam! Just like that.

But the guy can opt and choose to increase the time limit to 48 hours - which by the way he can do once a day in the free version of Bumble.

Is It Different From Tinder?

Bumble Date works the same way as Tinder with the difference that Bumble tries to put women first and it’s up to them to start a conversation. If we move away from dating, Bumble advertises itself as a networking app and not just a dating app. In that sense, you have the option to make friends and meet people to collaborate for work on Bumble. This could be a game-changer for people who work as freelancers.

But the catch is, how many people are willing to come to Bumble, JUST to find people to collaborate with?
